George Bush [George Bush]
(1924–) the 41st US ↑President (1989–93) and a member of the ↑Republican Party. He was twice the Vice-President under Ronald Reagan (1981–89). Bush was popular after the ↑Gulf War was won in 1991, but lost support during America’s later economic problems. He was defeated by Bill Clinton in the election of 1992.
